Tri-Rivers Fair golf tournament adds to pre-fair schedule; raises funds to support fair weekend
June 15, 2026 – Salina, KS – “We thrive in Saline County because there is both rural and city culture,” Adam Ast, chair of the Tri-Rivers Fair fundraising committee, said. “We need to continue to engage with itself, and the Tri-Rivers Fair is an opportunity to do that.”
To provide further opportunity for community engagement, the Tri-Rivers Fair is adding one more activity to the pre-fair activities, and will host a golf tournament on Friday, July 24 at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. The Saturday and Sunday pre-fair events include 4-H and open class dog show and fashion revue.
The golf tournament offers a community engagement component, and an opportunity to financially support the efforts to keep fair weekend fresh.
“Historically, the Tri-Rivers Fair has always had a rodeo,” Ast said. “In digging back on our history, we’re bringing a Bulls, Broncs and Barrels event to the fair. The golf tournament not only provides an opportunity to engage that day but funds the events during the fair that promote community engagement.”
The Bulls, Broncs and Barrels event will be held in the evening on Saturday, Aug. 1. Tickets can be purchased online at https://tririversfair.org/bulls-broncs-barrels/.
Pre-registration for the golf tournament can also be found online at https://tririversfair.org/about/golf-tournament/. For a four-person team, a $400 registration provides green fees, golf carts and a meal. Pre-registration is due Monday, July 20.
On the day of the event, golf teams are asked to arrive for registration at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start for the scramble format tournament at 1 p.m.
For individuals not interested in playing golf but wanting to support the efforts of the Tri-Rivers Fair board, hole sponsorships are available. With a tiered program, a $75 golf tournament sponsorship includes signage on a golf cart and a shout out on social media. A $250 golf tournament sponsorship includes signage at a designated hole, and a shout out on social media. For a $500 golf tournament sponsorship, businesses or individuals will receive signage at a designated hole, a shout out on social media and a banner hung at the golf tournament, in the arena during the 2026 Tri-Rivers Fair and the demo derby on Sunday, Aug. 9 at the Salina Speedway.
“People talk about when they were kids and going to the fair, and we really are trying to bring those emotions back to the experience at the Tri-Rivers Fair,” Ast said. “We’re trying to build something as close as we can get to it, and the support of local individuals and businesses would be very much appreciated.”
