Open Class Exhibitors

Open Class competitions at the Tri-Rivers Fair provide an opportunity for community members of all ages to showcase their skills, creativity, and hard work. Whether you excel in agriculture, home economics, arts and crafts, or baking, there’s a category for you!

Rules & Guidelines

Before entering, please review the general rules and specific category guidelines:

  • General Open Class Rules – Entry procedures, deadlines, and judging information.
  • Agriculture – Poultry and agronomy.
  • Home Economics – Food preservation, foods, hand work and handcrafts, clothing, woodworking, welding, ceramics, fine art, youth, quilting, floriculture, horticulture, photography, special populations, hand carving, barn quilts, porch board sitters.
  • Grievance Policy – The process for submitting and resolving exhibit-related concerns.

Check-in:
To exhibit in this department, bring the item(s) to be exhibited to Kenwood Hall on Tuesday, July 29th, between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Exhibit Cards & Entry Details

Exhibitors must complete an exhibit card for each entry. Cards can be picked up in advance at the Tri-Rivers Fair Office, the Expo Office, or the Salina Extension Office, or on the day of entry submission at the fairgrounds.

Check-out:

  • Kenwood Hall will close to the public at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3rd.
  • All exhibits must remain on display until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3rd. NO EARLY RELEASES.
  • Any exhibitor who removes an entry early will forfeit his/her premium check and will not be
    allowed to exhibit for three years.
  • Exhibits and premium checks must be picked up in Kenwood Hall on Sunday, August 3rd, between
    5:00 and 7:00 p.m.
  • Pick up your premium check BEFORE picking up your exhibits. All exhibits must be
    checked out with the division superintendents or assistants before removal.
  • If entries are left after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday August 3rd, arrangements must be made with the Fair Office (fairoffice@salinecountyks.gov). Any remaining items will be disposed of after Aug. 31st.
  • Perishable items will only be kept until 7:00 p.m. on the last day of the fair.
